Art Love Magical Mystery Tour

7-11-10

A day of which has for 11 years held great importance in Bobby and I's life. Our Nanniversary. LOL
What can I say about my companion of 11 years, not enough.
Lucky to find him.
Thrilled to still be together after all these years and still crazy in love as well.
He is my rock when the winds and the waves blow and push against me tumultuously.
He is there for me even when my own ship tosses and turns so much that I think I might capsize.
A man who had the gall to ask me for my number and email address even when he wasn't sure how old I was or vice versa.
Someone who I like to call my "Knight in Tye Dyed Armor."
This is a special day for us.
He is a man so kind and so honorable.
I did marry a Deadhead and I am proud of it.
We have seen quite a few concerts during our time together.
Done quite a few funny and entertaining things.
Drumming together we make a perfect pair.
Anyone know a priest cause I told him I would wed him again today?
And he said he would do it.

Zen at work

So Zen at work......Is it possible.....I read today during lunch that there is actually a Zen at work blog somewhere and it is suppose to be like in the top like 100 most popular blogs right now.

Can one really attain Zen at work?
I guess first one has to enjoy the job that one is doing. Right?
I do enjoy the job that I am doing. So I am good there.

I guess one has to take everything in good stride.
One step at a time.
One foot in front of the other. Check!

I guess one has to have a driving passion to do the job in front of them.
Check. Perhaps maybe too much passion. Who knows......

Channel extra passion into some sort of extra-curricular activity.
Check, photography, painting, glass craft, writing songs and drumming and singing.
Okay big check there. LOL

So I guess I am going to start just you know maybe reading the Dalai Lama more.
He is a man I really respect.
Booted out of his own country and still very positive individual.
Imagine if you couldn't go back home again.
You were forbidden to.
And forget about what religion he is for a moment.
He is a man I truly admire just for that strength.

So I will ring my chime and light a candle and roll my bowl with a stick and try to Ommmmmmm......close my eyes and imagine this evening.

Anything that you can imagine....It can happen! I have always been taught this and now I am starting to believe it.

Peace out.

H8TRED BE GONE

Why do we feel the need to hate someone for the color of their skin?
Why do we feel the need to hate someone because of the pain that they are in?
Why do we seem to be so selfish that we sometimes don't hear the suffering of a friend?
Are we caught up in our self so much that we don't understand where they have been?

We are all just people.
If you cut us we will bleed red.
One of these days we'll all end up in the grave and dead.

If we could just stop for a moment and take a little time.
We would just recognize that things in this world are fleeting and not yours and mine.

Let's share a drink together.
Let's share a glass.
Hold it high for friendship.
Hold it high so it will last.

Friendship is a fragile thing.
That many seek to destroy.
Let's hold onto friendship for every girl and every boy.

Feet.....Mermaids Don't even have them!

Feet

We take our feet for granted. How many times have you looked down at your feet and just said okay get me from Point A to Point B?

Seriously of course we don't do this. Unless you talk to your body like I talk to mine and people sort of look at you funny. But if you are a serious person who doesn't speak to yourself, you might not think about your feet that much. They are all sorts of sizes and shapes. We have corns and bunions and dead skin on them at times.
I am type 2, so my Doctor is always checking my feet. So many I have become OCD about mine. LOL

Our toe nails get all wacked out, looking like they are either swords or knives in some gang fight.
Sometimes the curves of our toes go one way and hook over to the left or swing over to the right like they are forming the lanes of the Indy500. Sometimes I look at my dear hubbies feet and sigh.
Poor thing.
His toes......Wow....when I trim his toes. I need to occassionally whip out the belt sander for them.
Alot of men's feet especially single men.....I check them out in the store and you can usually tell by a man's feet if they are married or single.
I can't honestly pinpoint sexual preference by feet.
But I can generally tell married or single by looking at a man's feet.
Some men aren't that lucky and they don't have wives who either
A) don't have the time.
B) want them to fend for their own selves
C) Don't like to look at men's feet because they are grossed out
D) Are oblivious to their husband's feet
E) none of the above.

Some feet cry out for help! Wash me! Clean Me! Clip Me! Rub Me!
My feet were crying out for help.
I had been on them an awful lot in the month of March and April was appearing on me.
And that investment of a pedicure kit is still lasting me till today.
I still have some of it left.
But it's about time to go to Sally's Beauty Supply and get more of the self pedicure kit.
There is a Lil Blue Kit. It's is called Heel to Toe.
I recommend it highly!
Step #1 is a Foot Soak. Oh my gosh I leave my feet in there for a good 30 to 45 minutes at least, the Eucalyptus and Menthol in the soak make it incredible.

Step #2 is a Foot Scrub. Talk about heavenly.......I scrub my feet while watching the rain come down on the pool in ripples in the water. It has Pumice Stone in it so gawd does it help get your skin feeling great.
Then I rinse and Pour more hot water in and sit for another 15 to 20 minutes

Step #3, I love this Step, All Hail the Foot Masque!
It has Chamomilla extract, in it which is something I have used for 11 yrs to soak my feet with, Algae extract, Spearmint Oil, Aloe Leaf oil, Menthol and Sunflower Seed Oil.

Step #4 is the Lotion, and well I know we all have our favorite foot lotion.....It's a necessity. Show your feet some love.
This brand has Water, Aloe, Lanolin, and Mineral Oil as it's base ingredients.

Did I mention that all the writing on the lil blue travel tote is also in French?
So I read it in French before I read it in English. LOL

I love you Sally's Beauty Supply!

So you know don't take care of your feet. When they talk to you, answer them.
When they start aching and burning and hurting you......Either give them love yourself or go pay for someone to love them.

Over and Out!

Just for kicks....I include a link I found.

Stumbling through the kitchen

So when I first met Bobby back in 1999 boy how did I so suck at cooking.
It seemed that while growing up and doing 50 million other things.
I neglected to really learn the art of cooking.
I mean don't get me wrong I learned that cooking was exhilarating but I never really learned all of the technicalities.
I mean my mother bless her heart....she at one point burned chicken nuggets.
The ever infamous...."chicken rocks".
Myself and my two sisters guess who we married......these husbands of ours all have something in common.....They can cook!
I think if we hadn't all found men who could cook we would have spent a lifetime making microwave meals.
Okay I can only speak for myself on this one and that may be an over-exaggeration.
But cooking is a skill best developed over time.
And it does seem to hinge on finding and exploring and trial and error.
In order to cook you have to embrace your failures.
I have had so many personal failures in cooking.
I have burned boiling water.
I consider that a great talent....Bobby on the other hand...well he considered it something entirely different.
When we got together I could definitely cook spaghetti, and I could make pancakes, I could make a steak, didn't really grasp the whole rare, medium, well done stuff.
I could make anything chicken fried and mashed potatoes.
I mean any Texas woman worth her salt can do anything chicken fried and some mean mashed potatoes.
We can do potatoes practically any way you want them.
That is just a Southern standard.
But cooking when it came to healthy cooking and worthwhile cooking.
I was just unable to grasp.
And perhaps one of the reasons why we were never uber healthy is due to that fact.
As I grow and learn in the knowledge of life and cooking skills.
I see it helps to actually read a recipe.
Know how to measure things.
Have alot of fun kitchen utensils.
And just be carefree.
Cause cooking should be fun.
